Backstory
Hae Min Lee was a highschool student at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born in 1980, in South Korea, and her family immigrated to the United States in 1992. She was a member of the magnet program at her high school and was an athelete. Her family reported her missing after she didn't pick up her younger cousin from childcare after school on January 13th 1999. She was found dead on February 9th 1999 in Leakin Park also in Baltimore. Leakin Park is a place in Baltimore very often associated with criminal activity. Hae's body was found by Alonzo Sellers, a maintence worker at Coppin State College while he was going to the bathroom in the woods off a road in Leakin Park. The result of the autopsy stated that she died due to manual strangulation. On February 12th, the police got a anonymous phone call telling the investigators to focus on Adnan Syed, Hae Min Lee's ex-boyfreind. Syed was arrested on Feburary 28th after one of his freinds, Jay Wilds, reported that Syed had told him he was going to kill Hae. Wilds also stated that he saw the body, and that he helped bury Hae's body after Syed had killed her. The state's case against Syed relies heavily on Jay Wilds account of what happened.
Claim
I do not belive Adnan Syed is guilty. I believe Jay Wilds killed Hae Min Lee with the help of another person. I believe this because Wilds story aganist Adnan is not very strong and his story shifts a lot. For example Jay's timeline does not line up with facts. Wilds knows a lot of key details in the case he could not have otherwise known unless he was a main part of the murder.
